Tuonela Gate

Tuonela is the realm of the dead in the Finnish mythology, the representation of the afterlife.

The people are there in their eternal sleep. There is no separation between hell and paradise.

This serie explores an idea of the beyond, a relation between spiritual, concrete matters and mythological tales through staged photographs from another world.

Wandering spirits meet floating branches and a curious mushroom leads to an occult skeleton, formed by a tree. A realm of cycles, a gate to an enchanted underworld.
